Brembo has redesigned the iconic radial master cylinder, now in pure competition style. Many innovations have been introduced for this new radial master brake cylinder, the closest to those used in high-level motorcycle competitions. Machined from solid, like the master cylinder used in MotoGP and SBK, the design of the new Brembo 17RCS CORSA CORTA RR has been modified to make it lighter and even more similar to the competition versions. The hard anodized black finish ensures exceptional wear resistance and extremely low friction between moving parts. It features a darker color than the previous version, precisely because of the type of treatment, making it even more similar to the versions used in Moto2 and Moto3.

The floating piston and seals are the same as those used in MotoGP, as are the fittings for the brake fluid bleed and delivery circuit. The latter are inclined by more than 30° to facilitate bleeding of the master cylinder. The lever, modified in shape, retains its main characteristic that has made it famous among enthusiasts: it allows riders to customize the "bite point" exactly where they want it, with an easily accessible selector on the top of the master cylinder itself. The selector actuates a cam mechanism to allow the user to choose between three different responsiveness settings.

In Normal mode, indicated on the master cylinder by the letter N, the bite point starts more gradually, making it suitable for city driving or braking in low grip conditions. In Sport mode, indicated on the master cylinder by the letter S, the start of the bite point is shorter than in N mode. This mode produces a more dynamic response, suitable for more sporty driving. Finally, in Race mode, indicated on the master cylinder by the letter R, the position of the cam mechanism further shortens the initial phase of the bite point to produce the same immediate response as the master cylinders used in MotoGP, allowing the rider to instantly reach the brake bite point. This mode is ideal for use on the track, where every hundredth of a second gained on a lap time counts.

The new Brembo 17RCS CORSA CORTA RR also features the RCS (Ratio Click System) system introduced 15 years ago on the Brembo 19RCS radial master cylinder. This allows the rider to select a distance between the pivot point and the piston of 18 or 20 mm by simply turning the adjustment screw on the front of the guide lever 180° with a screwdriver. The system uses a cam (red when set to 18 mm, black when set to 20 mm), which adjusts the distance between the pivot point and the contact point with the master cylinder push rod by 2 millimeters: this changes the distribution of braking force without altering the system's performance in terms of pure power.

The adjustment system allows the rider to get a complete feel for their bike and adapt the braking performance to their riding style, the motorcycle, weather and road conditions, using three different master cylinders in one, taking the overall braking system performance to another level. In fact, the choice of two piston pivot point measures (18 and 20 mm) and three bite point settings (R, S, and N) offers a total of six different configurations.

The 17RCS CORSA CORTA RR features the new Brembo logo, recently introduced and characterized by a simple and modern soul, with softer and more rounded shapes that speak to the digital native generation. The Brembo radial master cylinder has revolutionized braking systems over the past decades. Originally designed for competition use, it has become an increasingly sought-after solution for supersport and Naked motorcycles over the years. Despite its presence on production models, the radial master cylinder remains a pure racing solution and continues to be used in MotoGP.
