The Yamaha 450 YFZ is renowned for its agile chassis and responsive 450 ^cm3 engine. Its angular bodywork allows the rider to move around during acceleration and to negotiate corners without constraint.

The single-cylinder, twin overhead camshaft, four-stroke engine features five valves and liquid cooling. Displacement is precisely 448 ^cm3, bore x stroke 95 x 63.4 mm.

Lightweight fixed-cylinder shock absorbers ensure excellent handling. It features an electric starter and a 5-speed gearbox with manual anti-dribble clutch.

The quad runs on an O-ring chain with eccentric adjustment.

Its double-wishbone front suspension features preload-adjustable shock absorbers with three-position double-spring stiffness, with 250 mm travel. Rear suspension is by cast-aluminum swingarm with three-position adjustable shock absorbers, 280 mm travel.

Front braking is by ventilated double disc, and rear by ventilated petal-type disc, with double-piston calipers and hydraulic control.

The quad is 1.795 m long and 1.24 m wide. Seat height is 81 cm, with a wheelbase of 1.27 m and minimum ground clearance of 11.5 cm.

The fuel tank has a capacity of 10 liters, and the quad weighs 184 kilos with a full tank.
