The Honda CRF450R 2025 has arrived and has undergone significant changes for the entire model.
These modifications were so inspiring that Hunter Lawrence decided to compete with this new machine in the last three rounds of the AMA Pro Motocross.
The latest CRF450R is equipped with a completely redesigned chassis, a new airbox configuration, and ECU. The engineering and development teams, in collaboration with the Honda HRC team, have worked tirelessly to extract every drop of performance from this new 450. Thanks to the new complete RS-12 Signature Series system, a maximum power gain of 3.7% compared to the original model is obtained, while the maximum torque gain is 1.3%.
Here are some features of the 2025 CRF450R/RX RS-12:Hydroformed Silencer
This is the first generation of RS-12 exhaust systems featuring hydroforming technology, which reduces weight. This technology optimizes the available space for a custom fit while reducing material usage. Hydroforming eliminates many of the limitations of conventional metal forming methods, resulting in a lighter and more durable silencer. This new sleeve also features a deeply drawn one-piece resonator, improving durability.
Hydroformed Primary Header
Performance improvement through precise oval exhaust port fitting, with a smooth internal transition from oval to round. Durability is increased by reducing welds, and fitting is optimized by the exact repeatability of the hydroforming process.
Machined Joint with Carbon Coating
Our new machined joint with carbon coating no longer requires the use of anti-seize grease. This is made possible by impregnating the stainless steel joint surface with carbon atoms. The result is reduced wear over time due to decreased friction.
Header Resonator
Developed in collaboration with the Honda HRC team, our header resonator is not only aesthetic; it allows us to maximize power across the entire spectrum while improving rider connection.
Molded Header
Advantages: increased strength, better durability, as well as easier installation and removal.
The new RS-12 for the Honda CRF450R/RX 2025 also comes with a pre-installed INS-32-K acoustic insert. This insert not only produces a pleasant exhaust sound, but also helps achieve the best power delivery for the new Honda.
The CRF450R RS-12 is designed, developed, and manufactured in the United States with the help of the Honda HRC racing team, both in the United States and Europe.
