Hull drain plug
The oil drain plug is located on the motorcycle engine's lower crankcase. It is used to close the access hole to the engine oil sump. During an oil change, this plug is removed to allow the used oil to drain away, enabling replacement with new oil.
Here are a few points to note about the oil drain plug:
Thread: The oil drain plug generally has a thread that matches the thread on the oil sump. It can be screwed in and out using a suitable tool, such as a wrench.
Gasket: To ensure a proper seal and prevent oil leaks, the drain plug is often fitted with a rubber or copper gasket.
Magnet : Some drain plugs feature a magnet to catch metal particles in the oil, helping to keep the engine clean.
Size: Oil drain plugs can vary in size depending on the model and make of motorcycle, so it's important to ensure that the replacement plug matches the manufacturer's specifications.
When changing the oil, it's advisable to replace the plug gasket to ensure optimum sealing. It's also important to follow the motorcycle manufacturer's specifications regarding oil change frequency and the type of oil to be used.
