RFX Pro FT Rear Brake Pedal de RFX
The RFX Pro Series brake pedals are designed and tested for use at the highest level.
The Pro Series brake pedals are made from 7075-T6 aluminum and feature an OEM-style forged axle. The smooth finish of the axle helps reduce wear associated with a serrated design.
The Pro Series flexible tips are made from CNC-machined billet aluminum and feature a spring-loaded rotating tip that, upon impact, such as in a rut, rotates to reduce damage. The tip also has sharp teeth to improve grip in muddy conditions.
The Pro Series flexible tips also incorporate a stop on the rotating tip, which halts the tip at a 90-degree rotation, thus preventing damage that may occur if the tip rotates under the clutch cover.
The Pro Series brake pedals also include a cable brake snake, which helps prevent the pedal axle from twisting in the event of a collision.
Features:
- New billet 7075-T6 solid tip with flow design.
- New 2-position adjustment on the tip.
- New optional version of hard anodized tip available for current models.
- New brake snake style with adjustable clamp.
- New hard anodized black shaft to prevent corrosion and reduce wear.
- Supplied complete with bearings and bushings for certain models.
- Laser-engraved logo.
Assembly Instructions:
- Start by noting the height of the end of the pedal relative to the footrest.
- Remove the R clip or split pin from the rear of the brake bolt located behind the frame.
- Remove the pivot bolt that holds the pedal to the frame.
- Detach the pedal return spring and let it hang.
- Rotate the pedal outwards to expose the split pin at the rear of the pedal clevis.
- Remove this split pin and the locating dowel, the rear brake pedal will now come off.
- Remove the oil seals from the old pedal, clean them, and put them back on the new pedal.
- Clean all parts with a multi-purpose lubricant such as Maxima MPPL, ready for reinstallation.
- Reinstall the brake clevis, locking pin, and split pin.
- Reinstall the return spring.
- Apply Maxima waterproof grease to the pivot bolt, align the pivot hole, and reinstall the bolt.
- Tighten the pivot bolt to the required torque as per the user manual.
- Reinstall the R clip/split pin at the rear of the pivot bolt.
- Once the pedal is secured, adjust the pedal height to achieve the correct position and play by loosening the nut above the clevis and turning the plunger bolt inwards or outwards as needed.
- Now install the brake snake.
- Japanese models - Remove the nut and washer from the lower engine support, replace the old washer with the new washer attached to the brake snake.
- KTM models - Remove the new washer attached to the brake snake, set it aside as it is not needed on the KTM, loop the cable around the lower engine support and insert it back into the crimp fitting.
- Adjust the correct tension on the brake snake, remembering to allow for pedal extension downwards.
- Crimp the fitting using pliers and cut off the excess cable.
