RFX Pro ST Rear Brake Pedal - Blue de RFX
The RFX Pro series brake pedals are designed and tested for use at the highest level.
The Pro series brake pedals are made of 7075-T6 aluminum and feature an OEM-style forged axle. The smooth finish of the axle helps reduce wear associated with a grooved design.
The flexible tips of the Pro series are made of CNC-machined billet aluminum and feature a spring-loaded rotating tip that, in the event of an impact, such as in a rut, rotates to reduce damage. The tip also has sharp teeth for improved grip in muddy conditions.
The flexible tips of the Pro series also incorporate a stop on the rotating tip, which stops the tip at a 90-degree rotation, thus preventing damage that can occur if the tip rotates under the clutch cover.
The Pro series brake pedals also feature a brake cable snake, which helps prevent the pedal axle from twisting in the event of a collision.
Features:
- New solid billet 7075-T6 tip, with flow design.
- New 2-position adjustment on the tip.
- New optional version of hard anodized tip available for current models.
- New brake snake style with adjustable clamp.
- New hard anodized black shaft to prevent corrosion and reduce wear.
- Supplied complete with bearings and bushes for some models.
- Laser engraved logo.
Assembly instructions:
- Start by noting the height of the end of the pedal relative to the footrest.
- Remove the R-clip or split pin from the rear of the brake bolt located behind the frame.
- Remove the pivot bolt that holds the pedal to the frame.
- Detach the pedal return spring and let it hang.
- Rotate the pedal outward to expose the split pin at the rear of the pedal yoke.
- Remove this split pin and the locating pin, the rear brake pedal will now come off.
- Remove the oil seals from the old pedal, clean them, and place them on the new pedal.
- Clean all parts with a multi-purpose lubricant such as Maxima MPPL, ready to be reinstalled.
- Reattach the brake yoke, the stop pin, and the split pin.
- Reattach the return spring.
- Apply Maxima waterproof grease to the pivot bolt, align the pivot hole, and put the bolt back in place.
- Tighten the pivot bolt to the required torque as per the user manual.
- Reattach the R-clip/split pin to the rear of the pivot bolt.
- Once the pedal is secured, adjust the pedal height to achieve the correct position and play, by loosening the nut above the yoke and turning the plunger bolt inward or outward as needed.
- Now mount the brake snake.
- Japanese models- Remove the nut and washer from the lower engine mount bracket, replace the old washer with the new washer attached to the brake snake.
- KTM models- Remove the new washer attached to the brake snake, set it aside as it is not needed on the KTM, loop the cable around the lower engine support and reinsert it into the crimp fitting.
- Adjust the correct tension on the brake snake, remembering to allow for pedal extension downwards.
- Crimp the fitting using pliers and cut any excess cable.
