Road agility

The profiles of the KAROO™ Street are directly derived from those of the TOURANCE™ NEXT, with the precise aim of improving on-road behavior.
It is characterized by a multi-radius profile with a wider and longer contour to increase the ground contact area and therefore improve grip and stability even during leans.
The height of the shape has been significantly increased to improve damping capacity and comfort.
The profile of the front tire follows the same pattern and a similar geometry to that of the rear tire to ensure synchronized behavior of the whole.

Dry and wet grip

The KAROO™ Street is characterized by a silica-rich compound with a balanced proportion of carbon black and resins to offer excellent grip on the road, in both dry and wet conditions.
A significant percentage of carbon black improves the resistance of the treads to tearing and premature wear when used on the road.
The right choice of polymer typology, filler materials, and resins combined with our exclusive and patented mixing process is the key to improving the cohesion of the different ingredients at the molecular level. This allows for a polymeric matrix with an incomparable level of homogeneity and thus maximizes its properties and characteristics, ensuring solid long-term performance.

Traction in all conditions

The tread design of the KAROO™ Street is derived from the layout of the KAROO™ 3 and its uniquely shaped lugs with the precise aim of offering excellent road performance, regular wear, and a high level of stability combined with real cross-country capabilities.

Extra-wide central lugs create a large and solid contact area that ensures high-speed stability on the road.

When riding off-road, the V-shaped lug arrangement and its numerous active edges ensure grip during acceleration, traction, and braking. On the road, the lug arrangement is able to reduce ground contact vibrations and contribute to maximizing wear uniformity and longevity.
Longitudinal grooves in the middle of the central blocks ensure water evacuation and tire self-cleaning capability.

Wide transverse grooves allow the blocks to dig into the ground, ensuring off-road traction especially on compacted clay and earthy soils.
The variable shape of the blocks combined with their V-shaped arrangement provide a large number of active edges that improve off-road traction.

Large lateral blocks allow for a wide contact area during leans, providing cornering grip and high-speed stability.

Integration with rider electronic aids

The KAROO™ Street integrates perfectly with rider electronic aids such as ABS and traction control.
The combination of extra-wide blocks and their V-shaped arrangement with the high rigidity of the tire structure allows for a high level of stability, traction, and smooth handling. This provides good feedback to ABS, traction control, and other electronic aids as there is no interference due to tread vibrations or deformations that may be found in other tires.
