Allow a good hour for preparation, gluing and finishing.
Glue your deco kit at room temperature above 20°C. There's no need to use soapy water or any other liquid that might reposition the glued parts. This method can be used for large advertising stickers (for example) that you'll stick on your car or truck, but not for a vinyl deco kit.
To optimize the installation of your kit, it's essential to use the right tools! this can save you a lot of stress...
- a standard or microfiber cloth
- a hair dryer
- a degreasing product such as K7 This product is not harmful to your plastics and is dedicated to preparing them for the installation of your deco kit.
The first step is to degrease your fairings.
The slightest trace of grease, oil or sludge, for example, can cancel out the adhesive power of your future deco kit.
Spray all your plastics with a degreasing product like K7, then wipe vigorously with a microfiber cloth.
Start by removing the protective paper from the back of the deco kit part you're going to glue.
Present the piece unglued in front of its slot, then begin gluing, starting on one side.
The glue is repositionable! if you find that the piece is not correctly glued, you can peel it off and start gluing again!
This can be done over a short period of time, 2 or 3 times maximum!
Use your hands to squeeze out the air and press down firmly so that the glue starts to work.
Take the hair dryer and run it over the part to be glued.
IMPORTANT: For delicate parts with particular contours, the heat of the hairdryer will allow you to work on the shape of the part itself, giving it the shape and contour you want.
Remove any remaining bubbles by applying pressure with your thumbs until the bubbles reach the edge of the kit and exit.
You can also use a microfiber cloth. In the worst case, use a needle to pierce the bubbles away from the edge.
To sum up, don't panic, it's easy to install a deco kit!
