VIDANGE motorcycle and quad oil changes
Here are a few tips on how to change the oil in your motorcycle or quad:
-
First of all, make sure your engine is cold before starting the oil change. This will reduce the risk of burns and ensure a more efficient oil change.
-
Find your engine's oil drain plug. It's usually located on the oil pan underneath your motorcycle. Consult your manual if you need help locating it.
-
Place a drain pan under the oil drain plug to collect the used oil. Make sure the tray is large enough to hold all the oil. You'll find all the accessories you need at Tonnycat: pan, funnel, jug, measuring cup, gloves...
-
Open the oil drain plug with a socket wrench or open-end wrench. Allow the used oil to drain completely into the drain pan.
-
While the used oil is draining, take the opportunity to clean or change your motorcycle's oil filter. Use a clean cloth to wipe any dirt or debris from the filter. We offer the full range of HIFLO FILTRO oil filters.
-
Once the oil has drained, replace the drain plug and tighten it with your wrench.
-
Add new oil to your engine. Be sure to check the oil level with the dipstick to make sure you have enough oil in your engine. Tonnycat offers the 2 best brands of motor oil for motorcycles and quads: MOTOREX and IPONE
-
Start your motorcycle and let it run for a few minutes to allow the oil to spread throughout the engine.
-
Switch off your motorcycle and check the oil level again with the dipstick. Add more oil if necessary.
-
Dispose of used oil at an appropriate recycling center.
By following these steps, you can easily change the oil in your motorcycle or quad and keep it in good working order. However, if you're not comfortable carrying out this operation, we recommend that you call in a professional.
